“You need a new boiler; we can’t fix this one again” is not news you want in winter in Alaska. At 40 below zero, one simply doesn’t offer anything in a building without heat. Chalice Lighters helped when we acquired our building in 1996, added a sanctuary in 2004, and a ramp and stairs for accessibility in 2018. We were hesitant to ask again but in the midst of a COVID budget crisis, we had to try. A boiler was a must.
We were overwhelmed with the response. The generosity of our UU community across the region has warmed our hearts and our building.
Thank you, Chalice Lighters one and all, for being such a generous community!
